THE SIX PURSUITS OF THE PROPHET

Writer: Diane CoryDiane Cory

Everyone called to the office of the prophet is sure to encounter a long and difficult process. There are many reasons for this. God is set on molding and shaping His prophets into instruments of purity and love. Fear of man, pride, loneliness and many other issues must be dealt with before they are ready for the office. But, the pursuit of Jesus will help tremendously. Here are six pursuits that go a long way in moving

* John 15:12-13 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, then to lay down one’s life for his friends.” NKJV

* John 13:34 “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” NKJV

* I Peter 4:8 “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” NKJV

* I John 4:12 “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.” NKJV

* I Peter 5:5-6 “Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that in due time he may exalt you.” ESV
