Heart Healthy Houses

Writer: Diane CoryDiane Cory

I am hearing the Father saying, “It’s time to reduce the risk factors associated with rampant spiritual heart disease that’s found it’s way into God’s people .” The Father wants to reverse this form of heart disease, creating among us “Heart Healthy Houses” of Worship.

Reducing and eliminating the dangers associated with a particular heart issue affecting the body of Christ means first recognizing It’s symptoms; cold love, competition, selfishness, stirring up strife, control, independence, emotional disconnections, objectifying people in obtaining goals, insecurity, jealousy over the success of others, receiving identity through possessions and activity, and the lack of honor for authority-just to name a few.

The number one factor in developing any of these symptoms is found in an ORPHAN IDENTITY. It’s the Orphan mindset or orphan spirit that causes spiritual heart disease. It’s become rampant in the body of Christ and a disorder affecting our intimacy with God and relationships with others. It even affects how we think about church structures. It’s a silent killer because many of us don’t think we carry any of these symptoms. Leaders are especially prone to this kind of heart disease because they run hard and lack time for self-care and reflection.

Ro 8:14-17 says, “The mature children of God are those who are moved by the impulses of the Holy Spirit. And you did not receive the spirit of religious duty, leading you back into the fear of never being good enough. But you have received the Spirit of full acceptance, enfolding you into the family of God. And you will never feel orphaned, for as he rises up within us, our spirits join him in saying the words of tender affection, “Beloved Father!” For the Holy Spirit makes God’s fatherhood real to us as he whispers into our innermost being, “You are God’s beloved child!” And since we are his true children, we qualify to share all his treasures, for indeed, we are heirs of God himself. And since we are joined to Christ, we also inherit all that he is and all that he has. We will experience being co-glorified with him provided that we accept his sufferings as our own.”

Paul is saying that the greatest gift known to us, (the 100% cure from the symptoms associated with an orphan heart) is through the revelation of the Fathers love. It’s to receive, accept and walk in the unconditional love of the Father who sent His only Son into the world to reveal His nature to us; so that we can experience and serve from an abundant life that only our heavenly Father can give. The only way into healing is to acknowledge symptoms and yield. It’s trust in Him to fill us with that sense of love that comes through Christ. A heart healthy house is one filled with mature sons who love and serve from a place of God’s favor instead of trying to earn the Father’s love by pleasing man and performance. A heart healthy house has mothers and fathers who themselves walk in the knowledge of the love and favor of the Father over their lives and give it away.

“Religion puts us into a place of functional relationship with God where we want His help, but we don’t want intimacy.” - Graham Cooke

Heaven runs on the love and affection of FATHER. We often want counselors, but we fear intimacy with the Father.

Psalm 139:23-24 says,

“God, I invite your searching gaze into my heart. Examine me through and through; find out everything that may be hidden within me.

Put me to the test and sift through all my anxious cares.”

This is something I am asking God to examine and heal in my own life. It’s time for an upgrade in trust that will stimulate faith and in deeper revelation into the love of the Father for us in our weaknesses.”

It’s time to produce Heart Healthy Houses in our city. :)
